Before you change the resolution of your recorder, determine what resolutions the display you are using support.
Be cautious when changing the resolution as selecting the wrong resolution for your display can cause your recorder to display a black screen, or an error on the display stating "Out of Range".
This can be corrected if you have buttons on the front panel of the recorder, or access to a computer. See the instructions below.
1. Turn off the recorder.
2. Hold the SHIFT button on the front panel
3. While holding SHIFT, turn the recorder back on and continue to hold SHIFT until your display returns.
If your recorder does not have a shift button or this method does not resolve the problem, you will need to login to the web interface, see below.
You can access the Web Interface by entering the recorders IP address into the address bar of Internet Explorer if you know what the IP address is. You may need to change the IP address of your laptop to reach it (A guide on how to do this can be found here). If you do not know the IP address of the recorder, see this article.
