    VSIPSLR-3P3F Quick Start Guide

    Unlike our other CCTV cameras, the Solar 4G Multi-Vision Camera (VSIPSLR-3P3F) cannot be connected to an NVR. It can be configured through a phone or tablet via the DMSS app.

     

    Creating a DMSS Account

    DMSS is a remote surveillance app that can be used to access your security products remotely.
    It can be found on the Google Play store and iOS App Store.

    1. To create an DMSS account, tap Log In

       
       
    2. Tap Sign Up.


       
    3. Enter your email/phone number, create a password and accept the DMSS Registration Agreement, then tap Get Verification Code.


       
    4. Check your inbox for a verification code (press resend if you do not receive one) then enter the code in the empty field.

       

      You may receive Account Security Enhancement pop-up when you've created your account. Here you need to enter another verification code. Repeat from the previous step.

    First Time Setup

     

    1. To insert the SIM card and/or change the SD card (a 128GB SD card has already been provided for you), twist the base of the fixed overview camera (do not twist from the base of the PTZ).


       
       
    2. Unscrew the compartment and insert a SIM/SD card. Screw back the compartment once finished.

      Ensure that your SIM card has been activated by visiting your mobile provider website or your provider's customer portal.

    3. Turn on the camera from the switch found underneath the camera.




       
    4. Make sure to connect the USB Type-C cable from the solar panel to the camera.

     
     

    Adding The Camera To The DMSS App

     

    1. Ensure that you are logged into your DMSS account, then tap on the plus icon at the top right of the Home Screen.


       
    2. Tap on Scan QR Code


       
    3. Scan the QR code for your camera's serial number and security code.



      Info

      The QR code can be found on the camera, the cover of the camera's manual AND on the box the product came with. Ensure that the correct QR code has been scanned (check below).


       
    4. After scanning the QR code, the serial number and security code should appear.

      Hit Next.


       
    5. The device will automatically register itself.

      Here you can:
      - Name The Camera, this is how you'll identify your device
      - Enable if the camera records and stores audio
      - Confirm if Time Zone and DST are correct

      After you've entered those details hit next.

      If the app doesn't automatically find the camera and instead shows this page below, make sure the camera is switched on, the SIM card has been activated and inserted correctly, then repeat from step 3.


       
    6. Follow the installation guide on optimal installation location/angle of the solar panel and optimal battery lifespan, then click next.






       
    7. This is how the camera will appear on your home screen.

     
     

    Home Screen Layout

    1 Back Button: return to My Device page. 8 Microphone: speak through the camera.
    2 Select Live Video Channel 9 Resolution: change resolutions from 640p to 2K.
    3 Settings 10 More Options: access tour, calibrate camera, warning light, active deterrence (siren) and tap&view toggle.
    4 Camera View 1: currently showing fixed lens camera, tap on camera view 2 to swap views. 11 PTZ pan/tilt controls
    5 Camera View 2: currently showing PTZ Dome 12 PTZ zoom controls 
    6 Screenshot: save a screenshot to the DMSS album. 13 Home Position: returns to default home position.
    7 Record: record and store footage in the DMSS album. 14 Favourite Point

     

    Tap on to the camera view to show additional controls.

    1 Sound: mute/unmute audio. 2 Window Settings: view 1, 4, 9 or 16 different cameras at once.
    2 Split View: stacks live feeds on top of each other. 1 Rotate Screen: switches to horizontal layout for a better viewing experience.

     

    Horizontal Layout

    1 Back Button: return to Home page. 7 Resolution: change resolutions from 640p to 2K.
    2 Audio: mute/unmute audio. 8 Window Settings: view 1, 4, 9 or 16 different cameras at once.
    3 PTZ Controls: pan/tilt/zoom 9 Toolbar: activate LED spotlight/siren and Tap&View to move PTZ by touch
    4 Microphone: speak through the camera. 10 Video Player Size: switch between original scale or full screen view
    5 Screenshot: save a screenshot to the DMSS album. 11 Playback & events
    6 Record: record and store footage in the DMSS album.  
     
     

    Changing Working Modes & Adjusting AOV Mode

    Selecting a Working Mode/Period

    Manage the camera's power consumption and on-time by adjusting its Working Mode and Working Period. This allows you to choose between a continuous or a low-power surveillance CCTV solution.

    1. To change Working Modes, Tap on the Gear Icon at the Top Right of the Home Screen.


       
    2. Tap on Battery Management.


       
    3. Tap on Working Mode.


       
    4. Select a Working Mode that suits your security needs. This includes:

      - Performance Mode: constantly records footage at a high frame rate but consumes the most power out of the three modes.
      - Always-on Video (AOV): reduces frame rate to conserve power and boosts camera to 15fps during AI detection events. 
      - Ultra Power Saving Mode: camera only starts recording when the app is opened.



      Once you're finished, head back to Battery Management.
       
    5. Tap Work Period to adjust how long the camera stays on once woken up before idling (Working Period does not apply to Performance Mode).


       
    6. Slide the bar to choose how long you want to camera to stay on for.


       

    Adjusting AOV Mode Settings

    1. To adjust AOV mode, head back to Working Modes and click on to AOV Mode.


       
    2. Here you can adjust AOV mode settings, such as:

      - Frame Rate: choose the camera's frame while it is idling.
      - Work Period After Alarm: set how long the camera stays on for when it detects a subject before reverting back to idling.
      - Alarm Interval: Determines how often the camera repeats an alarm and sends alerts to you (If set to 20s, the camera will check the scene after 20s and trigger its alarm and/or send alerts if it still sees the subject again).

     
     

    Configure Motion Detection

    Enabling Motion Detection

    The 4G solar camera features two motion detection modes, including:

    • Motion Detection: alerts you when the camera detects any form of movement and scene changes.
    • Smart Motion Detection: only alerts you when the camera only detects a person or vehicles.
    1. To enable either motion detection modes, tap on the Gear Icon on the Top Right of the Home Screen.


       
    2. Tap on AI.


       
    3. Here you can enable either motion detection or smart motion detection for both cameras. You'll first be shown settings for the Fixed Overview Camera.


       
    4. To activate it for the PTZ camera, tap on PT Lens and repeat the previous step.

     
     

    Configure Auto-tracking

    Track and zoom into subjects with Auto-tracking. This function uses the system's detection rules to activate the PTZ to follow people. The camera will return to its Home position once the subject is out of range.

    *AI auto-tracking activates only via people detection

    1. To configure Auto-tracking, tap on the Gear Icon on the Top Right of the Home Screen.


       
    2. Tap on AI.


       
    3. Tap on PT Lens


       
    4. Enable Auto-tracking.


       
    5. To allow the PTZ to track subjects detected by the fixed overview camera, tap Linkage Track.

     
     

    Setting Up LED Spotlight & Siren Triggers

    Configuring LED Spotlight & Siren

    1. To enable the camera to trigger its spotlight and siren when a subject is detected, tap on the Gear Icon on the Top Right of the Home Screen.


       
    2. Tap on AI.


       
    3. Tap on AI Linkage.


       
    4. Turn on Alarm And Siren Linkage to enable the camera's siren.


       
    5. To enable the spotlight, tap on Link Alarm To Light.


       
    6. Here you can enable the spotlight for both cameras. Tap on Link Alarm To Light to activate it.


       
    7. Here you can enable the light and adjust its setting according to your security needs, including:
      - Brightness
      - Lighting Duration: duration the spotlight stays on after detection event.


       
    8. To configure the PT's spotlight, tap on PT Lens and repeat from Step 6.

     

    Illumination Modes

    1. To trigger spotlight when insufficient is detected, tap on the Gear Icon on the Top Right of the Home Screen.


       
    2. Tap on Night Vision.


       
    3. Choose which Illumination Mode suits your security needs. 

     
     

    Turn On Push Notifications

     

    1. Tap on the Gear Icon on the Top Right of the Home Screen.


       
    2. Tap on Messages


       
    3. Turn on Notifications.


       
    4. Enable the Notes pop-up.


       
    5. Make sure Send Notifications is on.


       
    6. To enable push notifications for motion detection events, tap on Alarm Message Type.


       
    7. Turn on Motion Detection and/or tap on to Smart Motion Detection.


       
    8. Choose to receive alerts of humans, vehicles or both.

     
     

    Sharing Camera to Another DMSS Account

    You cannot scan the QR code on the product again to add the solar camera to another DMSS account. This must be done inside the DMSS app.

     

    1. On Home Menu Select the 3 dots of the device you wish to share. 


       
    2. Select Share Device.


       
    3. If Sharing Entire Device, enter the target DMSS account you want it shared with and select what permissions you want that account to have access to. 




       
    4. Successfully Shared Devices.
