    Intercom Troubleshooting

    The table below describes common problems you may run into and their solutions.

    Problem
    Solution
    Intercom showing system is busy on NVR
    • Upgrade to latest firmware - Restart NVR.
    Unlock failed
    • Door station password is incorrect in VTO Config/ VTO Set
    Intercom says "Cannot find Network Host" on NVR
    Can't find the Door Station in when performing a device search in Camera Registration/Remote on NVR
    • Ensure that the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway of the Door Station and NVR are in the same IP address range.
    • Ensure the Door Station is connected via the LAN port, NOT one of the PoE ports.
    Can't connect to Door Station with DMSS app
    • Ensure P2P is enabled in the Web Interface and the Door Station is powered on.
    • Set DNS of Door Station to the gateway IP.
    No power
    • Check power cord connection.
    • Confirm that there is power from the outlet.
    • Ensure each Indoor Monitor and Door Station is powered by 12VDC.
    • Ensure the power supply meets or exceeds the current rating for the device you are powering. 
    Intercom restarts or goes black when accepting a call, or dialing out.
    • Under Voltage, check for 12v at device.
    No Live Video
    • Check the Door Station’s cable and connections.
    • Check the Indoor Monitor's cable and connections. 
    No Live Video during a call, but Live Video is present when viewing the Door Station under "Monitor".
    • Log into the Door Station's Web Interface. Navigate to LAN Config and disable Multicast. If Multicast is not an option, set Transmission Mode to "Mode 2".
    No Live Video when viewing the Door Station under "Monitor", but is present during a call.
    • Ensure the correct Username and Password are entered in VTO Config for the Door Station.
    • Ensure both units are running the same version of firmware
    No live video during a call or when viewing the Door Station under "Monitor" after the Door Station has been added to a channel on an NVR.
    • Set the Compression to H.264 under the Video & Audio settings of the Web Interface
    Error message "Open Lock1 Failed" when pressing the Unlock Button on the Monitor.
    • Ensure the correct Username and Password are entered in VTO Config for the Door Station.
    • Ensure both units are running the same version of firmware
    Cannot connect to wireless AP
    • Ensure that you are connecting to the correct Access Point, with the correct password.
    • Ensure DHCP is turned on before you attempt to connect to the Access Point. 
    Unable to connect to Door Station
    • During setup of the Door Station, if you have selected "eth0", connect to the Door Station via the LAN connection. If you have selected "eth2", connect to the Door Station via the Wi-Fi Network.
    • Press and hold the Reset button for 30 seconds to reset the Door Station to default settings. 
    Cannot connect to one device when it has been programmed.
    • Try to ping the device IP address from a PC using Command Prompt. 
    Unable to login to the Door’s Station web interface
    • Ensure your computer is in the same IP address range as the Door Station.
    • Ensure you are using Internet explorer to connect to the Door Station. 
    Web interface not displaying correctly
    • Ensure you are using Internet Explorer to connect to the Door Station.
    • Clear your Internet Explorer search history. 
    Door Station and Indoor Monitors not connecting
    • Reboot All Devices and Wait 5 minutes to ensure all devices have finished loading.
    • Check there are no breaks in the cable, and that it is terminated to either T-568A on both ends of the cable, or T-568B.
    • Check your Indoor Monitor and Door Station configuration. 
    Door Station makes an alarm sound when it is turned on
    • Check that the tamper switch is fully depressed. 
    Second monitor not ringing
    • Connect to the Door Stations web interface, and ensure “Group Call” is selected under LAN Config.
    Second Monitor can't see Door Station in Monitor
    • Ensure the Enable Status is set to "on" in VTO Set.
    Multiple Door Stations have the same name.
    • Ensure that the VTO number is different between each Door Station. 
    •  Ensure you have changed the name of each Door Station from the Indoor Monitor under the “Network” page. 
    • Reboot all devices.
    P2P Connection Status is “Offline”
    • Ensure that the IP address, subnet mask and default gateway of the Door Station is in the same IP address range as the existing computer network.
